Festival Greeting Generator
Or the Templatisation of Greetings
It is during Festivals and other major occasions, the true nature of corporate boiler-plate or templates reveals itself, or should I say surfaces.
There have been a flurry of greetings from folks in Leadership roles, or donning Leadership hats, or who have the job description of a Lead or a Head, followed by or prefixed by a function/department, on platforms like LinkedIn, and especially this Diwali, as witnessed by the screenshot above.
Either everyone is using the same template, or their Interns and Assistants are using the same template, which seems to follow a 3 Step or Clauses format.
I call it the Structured Greetings Message Framework
ACKNOWLEDGE
As we celebrate, <INSERT FESTIVAL/OCCASION NAME>
LOOK BACK
We or I am reminded of, <INSERT MESSAGES, VALUES, NOSTALGIA, AND OTHER VARIOUS FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS AND INVOCATIONS>
FUTURE FORWARD
May this <INSERT FESTIVAL/OCCASION NAME>, bring <YOU, YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS, COLLEAGUES, LOVED ONES, PETS>, not necessarily in that order, <INSERT LOOK FORWARD TO FUTURE BEING BRIGHT MESSAGE>
And this 3 clauses format seems to be so effective, since it is simple to follow for both the leadership and the intern who is writing it. It seems to convey a sense of creativity, originality, and a touch of personalisation to make the greeting genuine and engaging, which as we know, most of the time, and with anything that is formulaic, is spurious and rings hollow.
And since the rules are easy to follow, I asked ChatGPT to create a code for me, based on the three rules. Here is the interactive Festival Greeting Generator, May you use the SGMF generator, for future celebratory messages and greetings.
For fun, I added the following, as well
