Or I hate run clubs, some, not all.
Sporadic Thoughts and Useless Knowledge — Volume XIX
1. So you are part of a Run Club?
And you think that gives you privilege? You think you are better than the other thousands who use the same park / public place to run, walk, jog, stroll, take in the sights and sounds, and quietly go about their routine?
You think you can crowd around, and plop yourselves in the middle of the trail, or path, or right in front of a gate, to discuss your new dry-fit outfit, shorts with pockets (for your mobile phones, that you often take out to record your inane attempts to gel in, rather than focus on the run itself), and leggings that have never seen sweat or the outsides of a wardrobe?
So you are part of a Run Club? Did you think you are therefore entitled? Why don't you transfer your high-energy levels into focussing on your feet pushing the tarmac back, rather than converting them into decibels?
So you are part of a Run Club? Why don't you run where your run club is located? It is there in the name of your club, in case you hadn't figured it yet.
In case you hadn’t noticed, I hate Run Clubs, not all, but some. I am a Karen / Ken / Kumuda / Krishnaswamy when it comes to those Run Clubs. If you are incensed by what you read above, you know who you are, and you don't know what irony is.
2. A compass always points to the Magnetic North, but since opposite poles attract each other in magnetism, isn't the Magnetic North, actually south?
3. In the gyms, ego-lifting is a thing. People generally lift heavier weights than they are supposed to. A thumb-rule, that works for me, is: if your form breaks, then you are lifting the wrong weight or going too heavy.
4. I need to be functionally fit, as I grow old. Functional fitness, according to me, is lifting, carrying, gripping things that aren’t a dumbbell or barbell.
5. Observe how your co-worker, peer, manager, boss treat their office help, admin, or executive assistant; that is how you can expect to be treated as well.
